Pending Sale of Cloquet Natural Foods

Recently, Deb and I have entered into an agreement to sell Cloquet Natural Foods.  It is a bittersweet decision for us, as we have loved being stewards of this store and living in the beautiful space above it.  But given the unfolding circumstances of our lives, the time has come for us to entrust the store to new owners. 

The “sweet” is that Don and Jodi Christensen are buying the store.  They own the very successful Organic Carrot in Sandstone, MN.    We could not have found a more ideal couple to continue the legacy that is Cloquet Natural Foods.  Don and Jodi began working in the natural foods business right here at CNF under the guidance of Linda Dahl who started this store and trained many of the people currently working in natural foods in the Duluth area.  Don and Jodi will continue to offer the area’s largest selection of vitamins and supplements, as well as a well-stocked variety of natural foods and a large gluten-free section.  In addition, they will be adding products and services to enhance what is already being done here at Cloquet Natural Foods.   During September you will have occasion to meet Don and Jodi, as they will be spending some time here getting re-acquainted with the store before the sale.  When you meet them you will find them to be highly knowledgeable, energetic, personable, and well grounded in what they do.  Mostly you will notice their passion for this business and the care and attention they will give to you, our customers. 

We are currently in the liminal space between owners and are working hard to make the transition as seamless as possible for you. We appreciate your patience during this time and are always grateful to your loyalty.  Working with all of you has been a joy for Deb and I and what has made owning this store so much fun for us.  We will miss all of you and want to thank each of you for all of the good energy you have contributed to our lives.

Deb and I are moving into a beautiful, peaceful and soulful home in the middle of a large forest.   We look forward to gardening, quiet walks and frequent visits with our oldest granddaughter and her parents who will be our only neighbors.
